Cooperation Agreement between World Tourism Organization, ONCE Foundation and ENAT

Aimed at enabling universal access to tourism facilities and services, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) the ONCE Foundation and the European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT) have signed a Cooperation Agreement to promote the development of more accessible tourism. The Agreement entails a series of initiatives, including awareness-raising, technical support, indicators and training in the field of accessibility to National Tourism Administrations and tourism enterprises. The Agreement also involves the promotion of internships for young disabled people, with a view towards their integration in the labour market. In addition, it provides for the funding of pilot projects in tourist destinations, involving the application of new technologies, to facilitate the participation of disabled people in tourism and leisure-related activities. The Agreement was signed in Madrid by Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General, Alberto Duran López, Executive Vice President of the ONCE Foundation and Lilian Müller, President of ENAT.
