Everyone's step workshop

The Comunità Montana di Valle Camonica, with the financial support of the Cariplo Foundation, has developed a project that seeks to promote the development of the local economy, starting with a revitalisation of the cultural, archaeological and artistic heritage of the region. Around 300,000 engraved symbols can be found in the Valley - the biggest collection of prehistoric stone art in Europe - within seven archaeological parks, of which two are of national importance, making this site a treasure that should be both preserved and made accessible for everyone to enjoy. A virtual library will be created to explain its history and guide visitors to the park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This project, "Everyone's step", is intended to be a springboard for a new way of working in the field of culture, revising the legal framework and analysising perceptual barriers so that the projects increasingly bear in mind the fact that a diverse range of people should be able to enjoy heritage and experience culture. It is for this reason that the Design for All Foundation supports this initiative, as it underlines the importance of transforming any landscape, cultural attraction or service into a barrier-free experience, inherited by all and therefore open to everyone.
