A global database featuring concrete actions to make communities better places to grow old

The WHO Global Database of Age-friendly Practices provides a platform for experience exchange – by local communities, for local communities. It can be searched by country, community size, and domain of intervention.

According to the WHO Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities, an age-friendly practice typically aims to achieve one or more of the following: recognize older people’s capabilities, anticipate and respond to ageing-related needs and preferences in an equitable way, promote older people’s inclusion and contribution to community life, respect older people’s decisions and choices, and protect the most vulnerable older people, including those with chronic conditions and disabilities and those at risk of social isolation.

- Contribute your own age-friendly practice
